Temperence Street, Manchester

The drawings have been carried out outdoors over a number of years in Temperance Street in central Manchester. The street is located behind Piccadilly Station and is bordered by railway viaducts and workshops. It is populated by traders, policeman, pimps and prostitutes.

Miraculous Mandarin series

Bartok Series drawing

The music and story of the Miracolous Mandarin by Bela Bartok form the basis for this series of drawings. The Miracolous Mandarin is a ballet score composed by Bartok in the 1920’s and tells the story of the love and death of the Mandarin in a shabby township.
